Boat launching:
Via the estuary by tractor or four wheel drive is recommended rather than beach front. You have up to 3 hours either side of the tide, depending on the weight of your boat.
Directions:
Carry on north to Whakapara - the Service Station is on the left and a few metres past on the right is the Oakura sign, then turn right onto the Old Russell Road. you will now have about a 20 minute drive approximately 23km on a good sealed surface. Pass Helena Bay gallery and cafe on the right, then the Helena Bay sign- Teal Bay turn right. Continue up the hill and down the road to Teal Bay.
